Chester Operatic Society is proud to announce that we will be celebrating our Centenary year in 2022 with a glorious production on the main stage of Chester’s Storyhouse Theatre in the week commencing 6th June.

The committee have narrowed our choice of production to The Sound of Music, Me and My Girl and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. All three, we believe, reflect the values and history of the Society and will prove popular with audiences.

We are now inviting applications for the role of Artistic Director before we make our final choice of show. If you are interested in applying for this vital role, or if you know someone who might be, please e-mail by 28th May 2021 at the latest.

Interviews are likely to take place in the second week of June 2021 and we hope to have our full directorial team in place shortly afterwards.

Applicants should select one of our three choices and be prepared to explain their vision and pitch their ideas for that show. Ideally they would also display flexibility for all three, because the final decision must ultimately be made by the Committee.

For any further information, or to have an informal chat, please contact COS Chair, Steve Riordan and committee via the email below.

We look forward to hearing from you!
