Anna Glavari, a beautiful and wealthy widow, holds the fate of her country in her hands. If she marries a fellow Pontevedrian she saves the country from bankruptcy but, if she marries a foreigner, the economy collapses. Will she save the day? Count Danilo, a Pontevedrian nobleman, is persuaded to see off the foreign competition but can he and Anna put their past behind them and ensure it isn't just Pontevedro that gets a happy ending?

Set in Parisian high society 'The Merry Widow' is a story of intrigue, love, passion, mistaken identity and high drama, all played out to a backdrop of beautiful melodies. You won't be able to resist humming along to the waltzes and tapping your feet to the lively folk dances ....... and we mustn't forget the Can Can dancers!
